About Jajim Rugs

Jajim rugs are flat-woven Persian textiles, traditionally created by tribal and village weavers using narrow woven strips joined into a single piece. While most Jajim pieces favor bold stripes and small repeating motifs, some tribal weavers render pictorial scenes — landscapes, animals, and everyday imagery — directly into the flat-woven field, much like their pictorial Gabbeh and Qashqai neighbors. Lightweight, reversible, and hand-woven in naturally dyed wool, these pieces bring a graphic, storytelling charm distinct from any pile-carpet tradition.
