About Gabbeh Rugs

Gabbeh rugs are tribal weavings from the Qashqai and Luri peoples of southwestern Persia, prized for their thick pile and bold, minimal designs. Simple geometric motifs, playful figures, and warm, saturated colors give Gabbehs a relaxed, almost modern character. "Medio" pieces are a refined interpretation of the tradition, combining the spontaneous drawing of nomadic weaving with a more structured, room-ready format. Each is hand-knotted in lustrous wool and reflects the individual hand of its weaver.
