About Seychour Rugs
Seychour rugs are woven in the Seichur district of the eastern Caucasus, in what is now northern Azerbaijan, and are among the most distinctive antique Caucasian types. They are best known for their characteristic "St. Andrew's cross" or sunburst motif — a large, bold radiating star or cross in brilliant reds, blues, and ivory — set against a relatively open field. The graphic power of this iconic design makes antique Seychour rugs instantly recognizable and highly sought after by Caucasian rug collectors worldwide.

Like all First Rugs pieces, this carpet carries the natural character of handwork — subtle irregularities in knotting, color, and abrash that give it lasting individuality rather than the uniformity of a machine-made reproduction. It is ideal for a bedroom, home office, or reading nook, and, with routine care, is built to be enjoyed for generations.
