About Seraband Rugs
Seraband rugs are woven in the Arak region of central Persia and are instantly recognizable by their all-over repeating boteh, or paisley, pattern — one of the most enduring motifs in Persian design. The precise, rhythmic repetition of the boteh across the full field, often in rich reds and blues, gives Seraband carpets a distinctive visual movement rarely seen in other Persian traditions. Hand-knotted in durable wool, they are especially prized in long runner formats. Antique Seraband rugs are valued by collectors for their graphic clarity and the hypnotic, continuous rhythm of the pattern.
