About Qashqai Rugs

Qashqai rugs are woven by the nomadic Qashqai confederacy of southwestern Persia and represent some of the finest Persian tribal weaving. Lustrous wool, rich reds and blues, and designs built around diamond medallions and boteh motifs distinguish the style. Each hand-knotted piece carries the spontaneity and individuality of true nomadic craft. Collectors prize antique and vintage Qashqai rugs for their vibrant color, fine knotting, and the authentic story of the weavers behind them.

This is a genuine one-of-a-kind piece — no two hand-knotted rugs are exactly alike, and the slight variations in dye lot, pile height, and knotting you see here are part of what gives an authentic piece its character. It is well suited to a bedroom, home office, or reading nook, where its individuality can be appreciated up close. As with all hand-knotted carpets, gentle rotation every year or two helps it wear evenly over time.
