Antique Doroksh Rug Circa 1920 Hand Knotted

About Doroksh Rugs

Doroksh rugs are woven in the Khorasan province of northeastern Persia, in the great weaving tradition centered around Mashad. Known for elaborate central medallion designs in rich reds and deep blues with intricate all-over floral fields, they reflect the formal grandeur of the northeast Persian workshop tradition. Hand-knotted in quality wool with a lustrous pile, antique Doroksh carpets are distinguished and collectible pieces that bring refined Persian elegance to formal rooms and serious collections alike.

Each rug at First Rugs is individually sourced — no two are alike. Natural variation in color, pile, and patina is part of what gives hand-knotted rugs their lasting character and investment value.
