Gallery-Kallegi

Gallery rugs, also spelled kellegi or kelleghi, are the generous in-between size of the rug world: wider than a runner and far longer than a standard room-size carpet. In our collection they typically measure from about 5 to 8 feet wide and 10 to 21 feet long, which makes them ideal for long living rooms, open floor plans, grand hallways, and galleries.

Our selection includes antique and vintage pieces from several weaving traditions, including Tabriz, Malayer, Karajeh, Bibikabad, Khotan, and Chinese carpets. Because each rug is one of a kind, color, pattern, and proportion vary from piece to piece, and part of the pleasure of a gallery-size carpet is finding the one that fits your space exactly.

Not sure which proportions will suit your room? Contact First Rugs to schedule a design consultation, or visit our Acton or Boston SoWa showrooms. We are happy to help with measuring and placement.
