Differences in weave pattern
It follows in all of the instances mentioned above, that to know the source of the design of a rug is not at all the same thing as identifying the place where the rug was made, or the people who made it. The only way the correct parentage of these Chinese rugs can be established is by reference to the weave pattern and materials used.
